KIT Legal Affairs is the point of contact for all legal and tax law issues at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) as well as for the organization and implementation of elections.

The Law department provides legal advice to KIT bodies, committees and organizational units, prepares and reviews contracts, expert opinions and statements, and represents KIT in and out of court.

The Tax department ensures correct taxation and supports KIT in all tax matters. This includes preparing tax opinions and expert reports, monitoring and developing the tax compliance system, reviewing contracts for tax implications and advising the Executive Board and organizational units. TAX also prepares tax returns, reviews tax assessments and supports tax audits as a point of contact for tax authorities.

The Vote department organizes and conducts all elections at KIT centrally - from scheduling and preparing the election documents to conducting, counting and announcing the results. In addition, this department supports the decentralized elections with its technical expertise and is available to answer all questions relating to elections.

With its expertise, DE Legal Affairs ensures that legal, tax and organizational requirements are reliably met and is available as a competent partner for all questions in these areas.
